Fantastically Happy to be Proven Wrong! "Holy Shit, the Triple Crown!"

AMERICAN PHARAOH IS THE 12 TRIPLE CROWN WINNER! TODAY I SAW HISTORY BE MADE! I'VE LIVED AND WAITED FOR THIS MY WHOLE LIFE!

In an attempt to keep my heart from being broken YET AGAIN, I didn't get my hopes up. I even said I didn't think it could be done. How many times had I had it broken? The horses where I had my hopes up so far and had them dropped like a rock and trampled on? Funny Cide? Smarty Jones? Charismatic? Barbaro (I still think if he hadn't broken his leg in the Preakness he would have been #12)? And most recently California Chrome.

But never in my life have I ever been so happy to be proven wrong. I was at my person's restaurant and it was on every TV and we were clapping and cheering. And I had chills. As he came out of the last turn, I got goosebumps all over, couldn't stop clapping and smiling and I had chills. Amazing. Wire to wire. By 5! I have lived for this day my whole life. I have been watching racing ever since I can remember and my whole life I just wanted to see a horse win the Triple Crown. And now I have. I could watch that replay all day. Especially the part where Espinoza pulls up next to the outrider and says "holy shit!" My person says that if you win the Triple Crown you can say "whatever the hell you want!" LOL!

My congratulations for ALL the connections of that horse, to Espinoza, the Zayats, and Baffert, and to the horse for pulling off what so many thought couldn't be done again and doing it in style. I can't wait to see what he does next!

For anyone that might not have seen it, watch it! No matter how you feel about racing, this is a little piece of history right here. It's moments like this, that even after racing gets me down or the industry as a whole disappoints me, I still remain a participating member of Thoroughbred racing as well as a huge fan.

    1. I have LIVED to see this. I can't wait until we race at Churchill again in a few weeks. I'm going to do the annoying fan thing and go walk over to Baffert's barn and ask to get my picture taken with him!
