I kinda hate saddle shopping per...Eeee so exciting! I kinda hate saddle shopping personally lol but it's good when you find something that works. My trainer's #1 thing that she always checks first and foremost is clearance at the withers - she wants to see a generous amount of space to fit in a few fingers between the pommel and the horse's spine while a rider is seated in the saddle. For her, everything else is a little secondary to that (tho I also like to look for pinching and tightness through the shoulders).
